There are a number of articles ( Warfare Officer, Engineer Officer, Sub-lieutenant, Midshipman, and probably many more) which refer to Fleet Board as a step that transitions a Royal Navy officer from an officer by order of the Admiralty into a comissioned officer but I can't find an article for it. Normally I'd just write it but I can't find any sources on the Royal Navy site which discuss what that actually means.
Some specific questions for this article: Let's say you start out as a cadet with the rank of Midshipman -
