Should the map be there?

question Lukt64 ( talk) 01:41, 12 January 2024 (UTC) reply

Definitely. It serves to orientate the reader to where in the world the article is talking about. If the article does not have a map what representative image of the country would be in its place? - Cameron Dewe ( talk) 02:55, 12 January 2024 (UTC) reply
Asking because its been removed many times in the 2024 conflict in ecuador Lukt64 ( talk) 03:00, 12 January 2024 (UTC) reply
This article is not about 2024 conflict in Ecuador. If you have a problem with the map being removed from that article ask why it was removed from there and try to understand the reasons, first? I have no problem with the map being in this article, and think it should stay. If someone wants to remove it they should explain their reasoning before doing so. - Cameron Dewe ( talk) 03:12, 12 January 2024 (UTC) reply

What is the point of a "military situation" map?

This conflict is not of that kind. Is it supposed to show areas of influence or controlled territories? It makes little sense imo. 191.100.244.95 ( talk) 23:06, 26 February 2024 (UTC) reply

Map is pointless

With the conflict not being one of territorial control like Ukraine or Myanmar, nor major mappable insurgencies like Ethiopia, the current map shows little to nothing for the reader. It is just red with tiny, barely visible tints of blue. The argument that it orientates the viewer doesn't really stand as any image from the conflict provides clearer and more comprehensive information for the reader. For those reasons I stated am removing the map. Zinderboff( talk) 20:01, 9 July 2024 (UTC) reply
