Major League Baseball and the Tampa Bay Rays seem to be treading very carefully over some social media posts that have surfaced regarding Franco's involvement with possible underage girls.. not much else is available at this time other than Franco has not traveled with the team to the West Coast this evening and was pulled from today's game in the fifth inning after reports surfaced regarding said posts on social media.. All very vague but could be a bombshell in the making... MLB indicated they were performing their due diligence in regards to the matter; no official suspension or any other form of punitive action has been mentioned yet. Mumbai0618, your edit was a terrible violation of BLP. Note that while this source does say that he is on the restricted list, it is otherwise incredibly vague on the details why. You added serious allegations to this page that are not present in the source, and you did it in two different places for some reason. – Muboshgu ( talk) 19:29, 14 August 2023 (UTC)
The New York Times article about Franco's suspension mentions the alleged behavior that led to the suspension as well as Franco releasing a video in which he states "they are saying that I am [engaging in alleged behavior]": https://www.nytimes.com/2023/08/14/sports/baseball/wander-franco-rays-investigation.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.193.204.66 ( talk) 23:53, 14 August 2023 (UTC)
There seems to be a great deal of news about this, here's a starter: https://theathletic.com/5188954/2024/01/09/wander-franco-visa-united-states/ I was surprised we don't have a good summary of the situation. -- Jimbo Wales ( talk) 16:07, 10 January 2024 (UTC)
