The remark about DECnet area 48 being New Zealand does not make sense. Areas in DECnet IV are numbers from 0..63, nodes (computers) in each area being numbered 0..1023 (to my memory ;-) ). Sizable companies using DECnet had several areas, many companies across the world used Area 48.-- Teeschmid
