The articles Von Roll and Von Roll Holding AG are about the same company - it has a long and varied history, described in detail in the German Wikipedia at de:Von Roll. Founded in 1803 as ironworks, the "Gesellschaft der Ludwig von Roll'schen Eisenwerke", as the company's full name was from 1823 to 1962, started manufacturing funiculars and aerial tramways (among many other things) in the early 20th century. The monorail activity came later. Several parts of Von Roll AG, as it was called from 1962 onwards, were split off and sold in the 1990s and 2000s, among them the aerial tramway manufacturing, but even the former core area, the ironworks. Nowadays it's called Von Roll Holding AG and focussing on what's described there, i.e. insulation products etc. Anyway, the articles should be merged. Roosevelt Island, New York

This might not be in service any more; I don't know, but I am almost sure that Von Roll built a cable-suspended link between eastern Manhattan and Roosevelt Island. I rode it a few times when I lived in New York, and remember the very-distinctive builder's name. (I'd recommend checking details; perhaps Roosevelt Island's name has changed.)
