This page should probably be merged into (and then changed to a redirect to)
List of volcanoes in Indonesia, which is a featured article that already contains far more info. Actually, "Volcanoes of Indonesia" would be a much better name for that article, but making that change is a little more complicated and would require the assistance of an admin.
List of volcanoes in Indonesia is a
featured list, not a featured article. I think the list works very well, although the prose seems a bit disjointed, and the list of eruptions at the end is really beyond its scope. I don't agree with the merge/redirect proposal, because I think that a more cohesive and comprehensive treatment of Indonesia's volcanoes would be worthwhile, and I don't think it's best to attempt that within the list article. (See
WP:LIST for what lists are meant to do.) For example, there's nothing on either page about future volcanic hazards or monitoring. I do agree that
Volcanoes of Indonesia is far too short, and copying some of the explanatory information from the list might be a good start on expanding it. --

Maybe I should have referred to it as a featured list above, although it is really is more of an article than a list already. My preferred solution is not the merge/redirect, either. As I state above, it would be much better to rename that list to
Volcanoes of Indonesia and expand it into a more complete article. It is almost there already, and the nicely formatted list sections would be appropriate within that type of article.
I think it might have been better if those who put their extensive efforts into expanding
List of volcanoes in Indonesia had instead chosen to write a
Volcanoes of Indonesia article, and leave the list as a bare list (like the other hundred lists in
Category:Lists of volcanoes). But now that we have the current situation, what is the best solution? I think that one or the other (rename or merge/redirect) needs to be done, and I don't think we should leave this article sitting as a stub for the long-term. Expanding this article instead will likely result in significant overlap and duplication between the article and list, but maybe that's OK. I think it would be best to have all the text in a single place, and then maybe convert the list back to a simple list.
Hello!! I'm here (and I'm a he :-). I guess everybody should take a look into
WP:LIST. Renaming the "List of volcanoes in Indonesia" to "Volcanoes of Indonesia" is against the WP:LIST policy of the list article name. And about the content of the
List of volcanoes in Indonesia, I think everybody should look into
featured list criteria. To get a list article into featured list, the article should give more information, not just merely list of items in a table. Take a look into other
WP:FL, e.g.
List of South America tropical cyclones. Now I understand other editors concern to give more information about volcanology in Indonesia in general. I think we should have that article, but not in the name of "Volcanoes in Indonesia", but "Volcanology in Indonesia". That's my 2 cent. —
