it seems that voith regard the engine as the limiter - not the transmission?? eh? - so surely the 40 should have higher tractive effort - it should weigh more too?This shows the high potential for future development. As far as the output is concerned, the only thing stopping us at the moment is the diesel engine--otherwise the transmission could achieve an even higher performance range. (...Turbines could be a future solution for much greater engine power...) [3]
