The title was not destroyed and will reappear when Tony Benn dies, presumably being inherited by his son Hilary Benn.
In my defence, a letter to a recent New Statesman by a lawyer or somesuch made exactly the same mistake. ;) Morwen 23:48, 26 Nov 2003 (UTC)
If Stephen Benn predeceases his father he will not inherit the title - I presume it will pass to Stephen's eldest son if he has one. Timrollpickering 15:59, 9 Jan 2004 (UTC)
I love the way someone's put in a link to explain the Second World War, but didn't think it necessary to explain in remainder to the baronetcy of blah blah blah. What the ^&%!@ @$£ does it mean? C0pernicus ( talk) 23:03, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
Is it possible that the future 3rd Viscount will disclaim the peerage, like his father ? Thanks to Lords reform he dont`t need it for a future in politics, but maybe he wish to do it on ideological reasons ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.242.236.114 ( talk) 05:22, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
"As a descendant of the first Benn Baronet of The Old Knoll"
