ISFDB evidently credits Finlay with cover art for A. Merritt, Dwellers in the Mirage (Liveright, 1932), when Finlay was 18 years old.
The image in that database [1] does not match the "first edition" cover we show in the book article. It does appear to be the photo of something creased by wrapping around a book but, if so, there is writing only on the spine, no letters or numbers on the front or back cover.

American Weekly. By the way, we say here of Finlay, "In 1938 he went to work for A. Merritt [author of the 1932/1941 novel] at The American Weekly, moving from Rochester to New York City." In our magazine article
