It is only fair to point out that William Day's "Reminiscences of the Turf" could easily have been subtitled "Why Me and My Dad Were Always Right About Absolutely Everything".  Tigerboy1966  01:30, 29 February 2012 (UTC)

Editorial comment: I think that if there had been official ratings in the 1850s, Virago would have merited a 139 or 140 in 1854. In other words, she was phenomenally good.  Tigerboy1966  18:54, 9 March 2013 (UTC) reply
