Given there is no disambiguation (see below) over the term "Victoria Medal of Honour", I have copied the text back to this page. Unfortunately, I cannot "move" it to this page, because this page was the original page and was moved to the page from which I am copying back the text. Therefore for history of the page between 8 May 2006 and 3 October 2008, please refer to Victoria Medal (horticulture). If I have missed something that would do this in a more technically efficient manner then I apologise and would ask that my mistake is amended. Kwib ( talk) 21:59, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
Previously this page was set up as a disambiguation page because it was noted that the Victoria Medal of Honour may refer to two different medals:
However, the Royal Humane Society, although they have a number of medals, have no such Victoria Medal. As to why any confusion on this arose I can only provide conjecture, based on a research, that some publications have taken citations of awards of the Victoria Medal of Honour by the RHS, and expanded the acronym to Royal Humane Society in error, as opposed to the correct Royal Horticultural Society. Certainly, Lord Blakenham has been quoted as having been awarded the Victoria Medal of the Royal Humane Society, when in fact he was awarded it by the Royal Horticultural Society (he was the latter's Treasurer).
