Are you certain about this? My dad told me otherwise.... -- 152.93.35.213 10:43, 26 January 2007 (UTC) reply

January 1, 1984 was the day that the Regional Bell Holding companies took control of the Bell Operating companies. December 31, 1983 was the last day of the Bell System with American Telephone and Telegraph Company as the owner of the Bell Operating Companies. The exception being Southern New England Telephone and Cincinatti Bell in which AT&T had only a minority interest and was allowed to retain interest. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.148.53.200 ( talk) 21:20, 19 September 2007 (UTC) reply
