What about the early altars?

Rigveda 1.83.3a; 1.84.2b; 1.128.4a and 1.135.7a, compare Atharvaveda 6.5.3a show an early era when the sacrifices were not made by Brahmanas but by the householders and their wifes on the hearth in their houses (the "Pracayajna"). Compare also Satapatha Brahmana 1.1.4.13; according to 1.2.5.21 and 24 f. this later changed because of the unprofessional purity of the sacrificers (possibly also meant in Jaiminiya Brahmana 1, 250). Shouldn't this be mentioned in the article?-- 62.153.19.155 ( talk) 07:32, 9 September 2017 (UTC) reply
