Valdis and Valdís - different genders, different language

I noticed that Valdís Óskarsdóttir, who is an Icelandic film editor and female, is here put on the list with men that have the name Valdis. Valdís is from a different source (Old Norse) and is a female name in Iceland. It has been said that it means “goddess of the dead” (from Old Norse “valr” = the dead/the slain + “dís” = woman/lady/goddess/female deity). Runars ( talk) 00:29, 10 May 2023 (UTC) reply
