European Olympic Games

Which "European Olympic Games"? Is this the socalled Lithuanian's Olympic Games? -- Jakro64 02:13, 28 Jun 2004 (UTC)

European Olympic Games

Whoever wrote that Mr. Adamkus took part in the European Olympic Games probably meant, or at least was supposed to mean, the Olympic Games of the Enslaved Nations.

Enslaved Nations

The information about the Olympic Games of the Enslaved Nations appears to come from Adamkus's official website:

http://www.president.lt/other/biography.en.phtml

However, a thorough googling reveals NO other reference to such an event except in connection to Adamkus!

http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=%22olympic+games%22+%22enslaved+nations%22+-adamkus

The official Olympics website has no mention of any such event occuring in 1948. It seems a bit dubious to say the least...

I vote to take out this Olympic reference. It is mentioned in a US EPA website: [1] about Adamkus, which refers to the "European Olympics in 1948", but no further information can be found. Several countries were not invited to the regular Olympic games that year (see 1948 Summer Olympics), including West Germany, where a number of Eastern European refugees were living at that time. Maybe someday this particular competition will receive some sort of published recognition, but until then, the article is better off without it. Novickas 14:57, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

Region Five EPA Administrator

Mr. Adamkus may have been Region 5 EPA Administrator prior to Reagan's appointment, though perhaps he was "acting administrator." This should be checked out.

Re enslaved nations Olympics

Does anyone have access to the Lithuanian Encyclopedia? (mentioned in [ [2]]) I know there is a copy at the University of Chicago, and our family used to have one. It might contain some info on these alternate Olympics (there have been quite a number of alternate Olympics over the years). Novickas 14:50, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

Citizenship

I removed part of Alma Adamkiene "dual citizenship", because she, if I remember correctly, rejected US cit. several years ago. If somebody have other thoughts please share. M.K. 12:50, 8 September 2006 (UTC) reply

WWII alignment

In the article it states he was part of an underground anti-soviet movement. I didn't know that was another name for being a Nazi? He joined the Nazi SS, why is it not stated like that? There's pictures of him and documents as a Nazi. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.49.208.68 ( talk) 03:24, 26 November 2007 (UTC) reply

Sorry, but the sources (for example, [3], [4], [5]) do not say that. They say he "published an underground newspaper". So, I'll revert your changes (at least for a while). -- Martynas Patasius ( talk) 11:37, 26 November 2007 (UTC) reply

I would believe that the presented pictures could be more diverse. Why should there be 2 of the 3 pictures with U.S. officials?

WWII collaboration

Why nothing is mentioned about Adamkus’ involvement into collaborationism and service in Fatherland Defense Force? EdwinStrum ( talk) 17:04, 16 February 2016 (UTC) reply
