Nobita456 , the vaidya profession does apply here also as the ones with the last name were vaidyas by profession. Very closely linked. BTW, there is an caste of goldsmiths that also had vaidyas. I think you should make a new page called Vaidya(Ayurveda) and add things about charak samhita there. Vaidya profession was not restricted to a caste in most India as in Bengal.

We can add Charak samihata. I only temporarily deleted it. But the profession was practiced by even backward castes like goldsmiths making the statement from Charak samhita (written in Kashmir) irrelevant. Baidya is the only community who are ayurvedic physicians AFAIK. In Maharashtra, many castes shared this profession.

Still in a dilemma. Lets ask other opinions. Even if we were to do this, this article will still need to contain names of all communities(not people) where members followed the profession. We can also added that vaidyas are also called Baidyas in Bengal and also keep the last names on these pages. The reason is that all families n Maharashtra who had that last name followed the physician profession at least from Peshwa era if not earlier. Hence it may be better to keep on one page. Because even if you create a new page for surnames , we will have to mention that members of X, Y, and Z castes followed the profession and there is a caste of physicians in Bengal. We also may have to add about other states. Other suggestion is that Charak samhita is not a caste related book, should we add your statement to the Ayurveda page, not here. Not sure how to handle this. Thanks

It is simple luke.this page is for ayurvedic vaidyas(ancient).see any surname page like dutta or dutt.many communiets all over the India use dutt or dutta as their surname.we should mention about all community who use the surname "Vaidya" at the Vaidya(surname) page. Thanks.

It will need to be like
Patil_(title) and
Patil_(surname).Patil was a profession. Since the last name is directly related to profession(as in Patil title), they mention the castes on the profession page, not the surnames page. In this case, there was only one page so it was OK.

tell me valid reasons not to create a separate vaidya (surname) article. and under which guideline you are removing sourced content? which is relevant to this article.

Are you aware of the process of creating new articles? Pls read
WP:YFA. Did you submit the same for review? Moreover, LukeEmily never agreed; why did you create a new article (splitting one article into two) without involving other editors and without achieving consensus?

Vaidya is a professional group not a mere Sanskrit word. Does all Vaidyas(Ayurveda Doctors) have Vaidya surname? Of courses not. Then why should we not create separate article for Vaidya (Profession) and Vaidya (Surname)? Even if seperate Vaidya(Surname) article is created,we can add geographical distribution and other related information there. We all can work together to create Vaidya(Surname) page. Thanks.

Hey
Satnam2408, any quotation or text directly from such ancient texts like
Charaka Samhita would be considered as
WP:PRIMARY. In case you have a reliable source where the author interprets/analyses the same, you can present it here, and I would be glad to see such a source. Hope you understand. Thanks!

Hey
Ekdalian I am not going to quote 'Charak Samhita' here.I am talking about modern schollars, who have interpreted this and provided explanation. I have other source as well apart from Leslie and Islam.I would provide those later here. By the way I should have provided appropriate source there in Brahmin page, but mistakenly I have given those sources there. Generally I always try to stick with sources. It was a mistake.I beg your pardon. Thanks.
