A fact from Utilitarian genocide appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 6 October 2013 ( check views). The text of the entry was as follows: Did you know... that utilitarian genocide was defined in 1975 by genocide scholar Vahakn Dadrian? I'm removing the link to Utilitarianism, since "Utilitarian" in this sense is not referring to the ethical theory, rather it is referring to a motivation of material gain as distinct from a motivation of hatred or disgust. Mrperson59 ( talk) 05:35, 21 January 2021 (UTC) reply

While it was absolutely ideological in motivation due to racial science beliefs and such, it was also done however for the purposes of a Utilitarian Genocide at least in part, due to the policy of Lebensraum. Genabab ( talk) 17:44, 3 October 2022 (UTC) reply
