@ Doprendek: I am wondering if you can double-check this edit. Your edit summary states that "Unione Corse" is mentioned in the this source but I don't see it. Thanks! - Location ( talk) 02:49, 18 June 2015 (UTC)
While (re)writing the French article on Union Corse, I realized that the English version was not quite accurate. In reality, there has never been any mafia in Marseille, but an organized crime or what we call in French a " Milieu"
It is, as many American and French crime experts say, rather a fantasma from the American magazine Time.
It was rather a "galaxy of separated clans, allies or ennemies, that benefited from the historical contexte to flourish their business". They never infiltrated the state institutions but had some local relations to protect themselves.

To whom that can read French (or use an automatic translator), everything is described there : fr:Union corse, or with more details and sources : fr:Milieu marseillais

The third paragraph of that section needs deleting unless it is sourced. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.55.164.55 ( talk) 20:29, 12 March 2020 (UTC)
