I don't know how to edit the canal map. The A270 needs to be corrected, it should be A720. Renata ( talk) 19:18, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
The schematic is good and a small scale geometric map would also be helpful. Is any existing map suitable? ... PeterEasthope ( talk) 16:26, 14 January 2011 (UTC)
The article doesn't tell us; it only says it "was being built" [do you "build" a canal?] between certain dates. Does that mean it opened in one go at the final date, or what? Can we have a date ratehr than just a year? Afterbrunel ( talk) 10:46, 26 October 2012 (UTC)
I've added the map. There were a lot of problems with the text, for example there was a section that the Millennium Wheel project "will" be carried out, as well as a description of it.
There is still a need for a lot more verifiable encyclopaedic content for the modern usage section -- this is outside my capability. Afterbrunel ( talk) 20:09, 26 October 2012 (UTC)
"the south bank of the Union Canal" - but where? Any encyclopaedia would normally give the location for this find. Can anyone supply it? Kim Traynor ( talk) 00:01, 3 November 2012 (UTC)
Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on

Hi there. I have the Ordanance Survey 1957 map here of the area, and it does not show the basins linking the canals - so they appear to be filled in by the late 50s, not the 1960s as stated. Can someone else confirm and amend the body text here?
