Scope
This topic has wider scope than both
Seabed mining, which extends into shallow water, including the surf zone, and
Deep sea mining, which is restricted to greater depths, typically off the continental shelf. Underwater mining in rivers and lakes also happens (placer gold, diamonds etc). An article should therefore exist with summary sections for Seabed and Deep sea mining. I may get around to it some day, but I hope someone who knows more about it will get there first. · · ·
