My family had ties to the Lexington. As I recall it was sunk in Lake Superior. For the 1876 Centennial they got donations to raise the boat. My great great grandfather got a gold top cane signed by Commodore Perry thanking him for his support. The last I heard the Lexington was destroyed in a fire.
