The once-attached (now deleted) picture is not one of USS Laffey DD-724, but is of the earlier Laffey DD-459, sunk during the Naval Battle of Guadalcanal. This is evident because of the penant number on the bow. I looked at http://www.history.navy.mil but they do not have a picture of DD-724. Mike 17:26, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

A new article about the Laffey came out today on our local news. Doesn't seem to have any specifics on when the ship will be reberthed, so I dunno how helpful it is, but I thought the folks here would be interested. 161.225.196.111 ( talk) 22:29, 25 January 2012 (UTC)
The U.S. Presidential Unit Citation page doesn't mention the fact that the USS Laffey (DD-724) received a citation, only that the USS Laffey (DD-459) received one... Possibly an error? Wasteland Software ( talk) 05:59, 18 April 2012 (UTC)
The mention of Laffey in Azur Lane isn't right, as the Laffey portrayed there is the older one, DD-459... perhaps it would be better to just remove that line from the article, or maybe place it on the USS Laffey (DD-459) page, if it isn't already there? 77.54.5.36 ( talk) 23:17, 22 May 2019 (UTC)
