The ship's wheel, as I recall, and other bridge-emplaced items, are on public display at the (wonderful) National Naval Aviation Museum at Pensacola. I've asked them to provide a citable source for their holdings. DulcetTone ( talk) 23:28, 1 September 2021 (UTC)
Ya know, BilCat, had I come across this edit before you, I think I might have just let it stand, (along with a "cite needed" tag, of course). Even now, if I have some free time, I think I might just hunt around a bit and see if there are any sources about to support the statement in that edit. It's not necessarily wrong. "in a disgrace that the Navy will never live down"would be appropriate in an op-ed, a blog, a fan site, or even on the Naval History and Heritage Command website, but it's not appropriate in Wikipedia's voice. BilCat ( talk) 04:55, 21 November 2021 (UTC)
I notice that her flight deck has a runway number of "9." Was there a technical reason for that? Or was it symbolic "Always face westward" kind of thing? Fephisto ( talk) 17:45, 14 November 2022 (UTC)
