Replace blue infobox with latest light blue box and added required data.
Added first paragraph describing career of the ship.
Replaced abbreviated text with entire text from DANFS.

Having been commissioned in January 1859 and decommissioned in May 1889, it seems to me the final phrase of the third paragraph "nearly half a century" would be more accurate if it were changed to "over three decades," and give a better feel for the ship's service life if an actual length of time is not to be used. Banner asking for footnotes does not apply as the entire page is from DANFS. Wikited ( talk) 19:21, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
It is my understanding that Brooklyn was a sloop-of-war and not a ship-of-the-line. However, it is listed in the catagory of United States Ships-of-the-line. Shouldn't that be removed?
This duplicates the account in the main article Battle of Mobile Bay and should be removed and replaced by a link. Bob ( talk) 20:43, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
