Is the Steven Short linked the correct one? The link goes to a retired ice hockey player? Thanks Red Jay ( talk) 16:31, 24 July 2017 (UTC)
Wouldn't this article be better titled D3 - United Soccer League - as that is the name used by United Soccer Leagues in describing the league - this name seems more like a placeholder than the actual name.
As South Georgia Tormenta FC has recently announced a new head coach for their PDL-side for the 2019 season, it appears the team will have both a USL D3 & a PDL squad. Currently, it is marked on the timeline that they are moving up from PDL to USL D3. Would that still be correct or should we remove their PDL reference from the timeline? Both Tormenta and Chattanooga Red Wolves are working on soccer-specific stadiums, and both Lansing and USL Omaha play/will play in baseball parks. Can we add footnotes like for the MLS and USL Championship pages denoting whether stadiums are shared or soccer-specific or otherwise? — Lanway ( talk) 21:11, 1 May 2019 (UTC)
Until we have confirmation that Penn FC is indeed playing in 2020, can we move them back to the Future Teams section with Rochester? — Lanway ( talk) 19:18, 4 November 2019 (UTC)
Why are the Rochester Rhinos missing from the future clubs list? SportsFan007 ( talk) 09:16, 5 February 2021 (UTC)

Figure this is a good place to put this since it probably has a lot of page watchers. For those unaware, there was a recent RfC which basically came to the conclusion that simply playing a pro match (in any league) is not enough for an article anymore. That is, articles which are basically sourced only to stats pages/game reports/etc are not enough and meeting WP:FPL is no longer a thing. They should meet GNG and have a couple references of significant coverage beyond routine mentions per Wikipedia:Village_pump_(policy)/Sports_notability#To_those_upset_with_sports_coverage_on_Wikipedia. There are a couple discussions in the recent archive at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Football about it too. Basically an article would need more than citations to league match reports/soccerway/etc. Basically, it's okay to create an article after one appearance, but it just requires a higher quality of sourcing now to prove it meets notability guidelines. Hi @ Yoshiegg25 - I see you commented out the inclusion of the new Westchester, New York club, and stated that the reason was that the USL had not announced the new club yet. However, the new club was announced in a reputable daily newspaper and a reference citation was provided. Perhaps a notation could be added saying that news of this new club isn't official, but I don't think the article's list of future clubs should be limited to whatever information USL's head office wants to release.
