The Columbian, 2021. Abandoned former Coast Guard sub chaser sinks in Columbia River. https://www.columbian.com/news/2021/nov/04/abandoned-former-coast-guard-sub-chaser-sinks-in-columbia-river/, 4 November 2021.

I saw this vessel on the List of museum ships with no associated page. I found the preservation page and created a stub - then found the official Coast Guard history. I don't have time to flesh out the page, but there's a lot of good info on the Coast Guard's page. CruiserBob ( talk) 22:22, 19 March 2012 (UTC) reply

Updated Information

The Alert was involved in a local, big news story about homeless and crime. The previous external links no longer work and the restoration website is not longer alive. Seems a restoration stands a good chance of being off the table. References to the news stories are included, but news web sites make poor sources for a number of reasons, 'not keeping links very long is one of them'. A Google search didn't show up any other restoration efforts, ownership or details on the ship. WAR-Ink ( talk) 02:42, 19 December 2020 (UTC) reply
