I thought the largest city in the U.S. not served by an interstate highway was Fresno, California. Doonhamer 21:05, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
Historically the road developed from Virginia's Trader's Path, and colonization and development moved from east to west. Why does half this article refer to the road in reverse, with material cited from west (KY) to east (VA)? This seems counter-intuitive and counter-rational. Parkwells ( talk) 19:59, 26 May 2017 (UTC)
