Mbundu people

im trying to learn about the empire of Kongo it was a empire of Africa from 1395 to 1914 i want to know when the Mbundu were conquered by the Kongo empire another vassel state was Vili located just outside cabinda province. Acording to Wikipedia Kongo empire was a large empire close to the size of germany with 129,400 miles of land as of 1650 AD i would like to learn of the exspansion and decline of this empire. 99.164.123.146 ( talk) 18:09, 7 August 2010 (UTC) reply

  • David Birmingham, Trade and Conflict in Angola: The Mbundu and their Neighbours Unter the Influence of the Portuguese, 1483-1790, Oxford: Clarendon, 1966
  • Joseph Miller, Kings and Kinsmen: Early Mbundu States in Angola, Oxford: Clarendon, 1976
