Can anyone recommend a good book about the Tyrolean Rebellion? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.33.109.146 ( talk) 11:37, 15 July 2011 (UTC) reply

Rebellion as translation for "Volksaufstand", "Freiheitskampf" is not coming closest

By using the wording "rebellion" WP editors are framing the armed resistance of the Tyrolean people in a way that IMHO does not pay respect to the facts. Rebellion is downplaying the facts.

In German / Austrian literature the wordings used in general are: Volksaufstand and Freiheitskampf. Volk = The people; Aufstand (literally: standing up against) = revolt, uprising; Freiheit = Freedom; Kampf = armed fight, armed resistance.

In French most used is Resurrection The Britannica also uses resurrection.

Proposal: uprising or revolt instead of rebellion. Count your Garden by the Flowers ( talk) 22:16, 12 November 2022 (UTC) reply
