Have merged the article Turton, England with Turton, Lancashire as the stub's limited text referred to this articlein the following text:
Turton is a town in the Metropolitan Borough of Bolton in Lancashire. It has a high school called Turton Media Arts College.

I've moved this back to the last and highest status the district had before it was abolished, as that is what has been done with the other historic districts. MRSC • Talk 07:22, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

The article is confusing in that most of it deals with the township/civil parish of Turton, but some of it deals with the urban district which existed from 1894 to 1974, and covered a much larger area. Would it be better to split the article into two, one on the township and one on the UD?-- Mhockey ( talk) 21:54, 7 August 2014 (UTC)
