Overall: It's always fun to find resonances between DYK hooks — in this case I'm reviewing this as a QPQ for my own hook about language preservation. Overall, everything checks out; nice work!
The only tweak I'd suggest would be to take outnow, as
deadis implied to be the present circumstance unless otherwise qualified (if retained,
now deadwould be better hyphenated). That leaves us with ALT0a:
