The underground control room has nothing to do with the airfield. From the pictures it looks to be a R.O.C. Post. Exrocman ( talk) 04:42, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
Yes you are correct, this is definitly a ROC Post, used for observation during the cold war and would have been used to measure bomb blasts etr. if britian was hit by a nuclear weapon. http://www.subbrit.org.uk/rsg/roc/db/988178727.html it's probably this one as this is the only one in the area of the airfield, and the picture on the Wiki page shows it to have a Torlift hatch which the picture on Subbrit also shows it to have a Torlift hatch ( talk) 04:45, 19 January 2012 (UTC)

It is 1-2 miles to the south west of this location . You can see the outline of the old runways in the fields 88.110.164.171 ( talk) 23:44, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
