I propose moving this page to Torgut or Torguts on the basis that this tribe has traditionally been viewed as "non-Mongol" by the Mongols themselves, despite the fact that the dialects spoken by the modern Torguts are clearly members of the Mongolic language family. Even the ethnonym of the Torguts seems to indicate that this tribe was originally a Turkic people, not a Mongolic one. Ebizur 23:12, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
Where have you found this false information? All oirad mongolians are regarded as mongols in the mongolia. They are somethimes called as western mongolians by khalka mongolians due to their dialects but they are fully mongolians. There is only one mongolian tribe which is originally a turkic tribe. That is the khoton tribe. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.178.33.247 ( talk) 00:55, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
I beleive also that Torghut are recognised as mongols. I am endevouring to complete more research into this subject. kerrigh 15:40, 14 March 2008. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kerrigh ( talk • contribs)
FWIW, Google favors Torgut over Torghut by approx. 10:1, so regardless of what the "correct" romanization may be, the common name seems to be "Torgut". Jpatokal ( talk) 12:52, 3 September 2011 (UTC)

Do Torghuts live in Inner Mongolia? If so, why not add this information to the article? 173.89.236.187 ( talk) 15:55, 14 November 2015 (UTC)
Is torgut originated from word türük(turk)? 66.181.161.3 ( talk) 17:02, 5 March 2022 (UTC)
