Was looking at the list of league records Tony holds and wondered... who has the record for the most TD receptions in a single season for a tight end? ENDelt260 ( talk) 00:44, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
Anthony Gonzalez was born on February 27, 1976 in Huntington Beach, California, a beach town nestled slightly south of busy Los Angeles. He and his older brother, Chris, were raised by their mother, Judy. She worked two jobs to support her two sons.
Tony’s last name and his skin color made most people think he was pure Hispanic. But his family roots ran much deeper. One of his grandmothers was white, and the other heralded from Jamaica. His mother’s father was part American Indian and part African-American. His other grandfather was a native of Cape Verde, located among the Portuguese islands off the African coast. Tony is part Portuguese and part White, also including some Hispanic and American Indian. His last name, Goncals, is pronounced “Gonzalez” when Americanized, when his grandfather came to the U.S. that is how it was recorded. It has been the family name ever since. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Redneckangel7504 ( talk • contribs) 07:08, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
This section is meant to highlight the fact that Gonzalez has had significant impact off of the football field as well. His involvement in business ventures, with charities and in co-authoring a nutrition book is worthy of note. The links included seemed appropriate as they are to the respective businesses. In addition links to Gonzalez' social media pages were included in the external links section as Gonzalez has gained large followings on both facebook & twitter. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tg88 ( talk • contribs) 00:48, 8 September 2010 (UTC)
Even though in sports circles, UC Berkeley is commonly referred to as just 'Cal', is it appropriate for wiki? Given that wiki is supposed to mirror that of an encyclopedia, isn't it appropriate to refer to the university by its appropriate name, University of California Berkeley?
Since calling it Cal or just University of California is technically incomplete given that there are many other schools within the University of California system (UCLA, Riverside, San Francisco, Davis, San Diego, Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz, etc.).
I am proposing a move of this page to just simply Tony Gonzalez being that of the 2 BLP's named Tony Gonzalez he's by far and away the most notable by being a future Pro Football Hall of Famer.--Rockchalk 717 18:50, 16 September 2014 (UTC)

There is something FALSE on this page regarding Tony receiving Tommy John surgury on September 7th, 2007, which is completely false. He has never had any such surgery performed, nor been injured and is playing this season, including this week against the Texans where he had 20+ receiving yards. This needs to be fixed. |
