Spelling of surname

This article title was moved from "Tom Wilkens" to "Tom Wilkins" in 2014. There are numerous sources for Wilkens spelled with an "e", and some sources for Wilkins spelled with a second "i". Frustratingly, even normally reliable sources such as his alma mater, Stanford University, spell it both ways. Does anyone have a definitive source for the spelling of his last name? Does anyone know how we may contact the subject to ask him directly? This is kind of embarrassing, as the article title is spelled one way, and every use of his surname within the article is presently spelled the other way.
