Merge with Bactria

Hello User: पाटलिपुत्र, What do you think about merging this article with the article of Bactria? Kind regards Xerxes931 ( talk) 11:31, 9 December 2020 (UTC) reply

Never mind, just saw that there was a talk already and you left a comment as well Xerxes931 ( talk) 11:34, 9 December 2020 (UTC) reply

Hunting scene,Kafyr Kala, Tajikistan, 7th century CE. National Museum of Antiquities of Tajikistan

It seems to me as though this is a lion on the back of a centaur, not exactly a hunting scene. Can anybody who has seen it more clearly give a fuller explanation? 78.150.232.249 ( talk) 22:53, 3 December 2023 (UTC) reply

"ancient Early Middle Ages"

The first paragraph of the lead states that Tokharistan is an "ancient Early Middle Ages" name given to the region formerly known as Bactria. The use of ancient as a qualifier for Early Middle Ages seems strange and confusing. As I can gather from the article itself, it seems like the name has ancient origins, but only began to be used to designate a specific polity of some sort in the Early Middle Ages, in which case the lead should reflect that more clearly. If I am wrong as to the nature of the term's usage, I still would argue it better to clarify what exactly is ancient and what is medieval about this term.
