Soupforone Could I make a request? The title of this page needs to be changed because it is incorrect. It should be titled, Biher Tigrigna or Kebessa. In Tigrinya or English as a matter of fact we do not refer to ourselves as "Tigrigna" or "Tigrinyas". Tigrinya is the name of the language Tigrayans speak, and the name of the language Kebessa people speak. Tigrinya happens to be the same in English and Tigrinya, if Amharic wasn't, you wouldn't exactly call the Amhara people "Amarignas" would you? In Tigrinya: Biher Tigrinya= Official name of the ethnic group, or Kebessa. Biher means 'ethnictiy'. Tigrawey/Tigraweyti= Name of male/female Tigrinya speakers in the Ethiopian TIgray region Tigre= This is the Amharic name for the Tigrinya speakers in Tigrinya, not to be confused with the Tigre in Eritrea, which has a different vowel sound for e.
Secondly, the other article named Tigrayans needs to be changed to Tigrayans-Biher Tigrinya because Tigrayans just means people from the region Tigray that speak Tigrinya. The article mentions both of us so it should be changed.
So I think these two things needs to be changed, because "Tigrinyas" simply is just way to vague, it could mean anyone from the two regions. Resourcer1 ( talk) 19:35, 12 September 2016 (UTC)
The merger which user Turtlewong did was dubious and agenda driven. I reverted back so that Tigrinyas exist as separate article. Discussion with reliable sources needed.
