  • Hello! I'll have a look at this one. Comments will magically appear below soon. Take care, Moswento talky 12:42, 19 September 2013 (UTC) reply
Overall
  • Overall this is very very close to getting the pretty green symbol. The prose is much cleaner than other articles I've reviewed recently - good work! Mainly, there are a few things that are in the article that I don't think should be, and a few things that aren't in the article that probably could be. Once my comments are addressed, I would be delighted to promote this. Take care, Moswento talky 12:42, 20 September 2013 (UTC) reply
@ Moswento: How does the article look now? I think I have addressed all your issues. Themeparkgc   Talk  05:45, 21 September 2013 (UTC) reply
Thanks for making the changes, all looks good. I'm pleased to promote this to GA. Keep up the good work on these coaster articles! Moswento talky 09:09, 23 September 2013 (UTC) reply

Lead
  • Should Thunder Run be in italics at the beginning (and in the title and infobox?)
  • "will reopen in May 2014" - how certain is this? Would "scheduled to reopen" be better?
  • "will reopen in May 2014 with Kentucky Kingdom." - the "with Kentucky Kingdom" is a bit awkward. "when Kentucky Kingdom relaunches under new ownership".
  • "wooden roller coaster " - do we need the words "wooden roller" here?
  • The lead should contain something about the coaster's reception
History
  • This AP article mentions two technical failures in the ride soon after its opening. Worth adding?
  • "Thunder Run operated until the end of the 2009 season on October 31..." - This paragraph contains excessive detail about the park negotiations, which isn't directly relevant to the ride. Most of the text could be cut, and the History section made into a two-paragraph job
Characteristics
  • "features a ride duration of approximately 2 minutes." - should this be in the present tense? At the moment, the ride duration is non-existent!
  • "named the Hurler." - "both named the Hurler" would be clearer
Ride experience
  • I assume there's nothing really to say here about ride theming/station etc.? From the photos, and the archived promo description, I'm guessing not...
Reception
  • I think this section could be expanded with more about its reception in the early years of its operation, i.e. when it was most appreciated. Some digging on GNews revealed:
  • I also found a more moderated modern view, perhaps suggesting that the coaster has not aged so well: This 2007 article offers a moderated view: "The moderate ride: Thunder Run. One of two wooden coasters in the park, it's got a few nice drops and that jerky, clicking wooden coaster feel that some people love, but it never gets too wild."
  • "In Mitch Hawker's worldwide Best Roller Coaster Poll" - as a non-specialist, I'm left wondering "Who's Mitch Hawker? And what's this poll?" I know other articles have passed without this, but I really do think this poll needs to be given a context, in particular who votes, and what numbers we're talking about.
