Should there be a mention of clay facial reconstructions here? or is this article solely for computer generated imaging? Runa
The article makes the unfounded claim that 3D face recognition is more accurate than 2D face recognition. I'd like to see the source. From what I have heard, 3D face recognition, being a relatively newer and still developing technology, has not reached a level of accuracy comparable to 2D face recognition, let alone fingerprints. I think the Face Recognition Vendor Test (FRVT) 2006 will be the first large scale independent test of 3D face recognition systems.
