In July 2023 TYT host Anna Kasparian made controversial remarks about Trans women, leading to accusations of transphobia. Cenk Uygur defended the comments, leading to speculation on other progressive youtube channels such as The Majority Report, Vausch and HananAbi that TYT is moving into right wing politics.
