How do they know the inversion happens every 50 years?
Is there anything in the episode to indicate how they can know the inversion occurs every 50 years, when they've only known the wormhole exists for 3 year?

No one has commented, and there is no evidence that there was any
WP:LOCALCONSENSUS to ignore
MOS:TVRECEPTION. I have removed the user ratings from IMDB and TV.com
[1]. IMDB scores have been consistently rejected as unreliable and there doesn't appear to any special reason why it would be allowed here either.
Sorry, I put those up there when I first wrote the Critical Reception subsection ages ago as it was a lot shorter at the time. I didn't know what was and wasn't accepted. Feel free to remove the Star Trek website user poll if you feel that isn't appropriate either.

No problem at all, thanks for adding a comment. There are a lot more rules than there used to be. I've been cleaning up old articles and I'm fairly sure I found a case from over 10 years ago when I was the person who added the Rotten Tomatoes audience score. I'll probably leave it [the StarTrek.com poll] alone, but anyone trying to bring up the article to a higher quality level might need to reevaluate it again later. --
