The notability of this article's subject has been questioned. I believe that the criteria of notability are met, for the following reasons:
- The Unlimiters have been the subject of multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable and are independent from the musician or ensemble itself: The band has been featured in two articles in Riddim Magazine (see references) and two articles in Die Tageszeitung, dated 4 March 2011 and 8 October 2010. The debut album has been reviewed, amongst others, in Jazz Dimensions, House of Reggae, Big Up Magazine, Partout, Der Schallplattenmann, CD Starts, Rock Report, Melodie und Rhythmus, Das Textwerk, and Unruhr Magazine.
- The Unlimiters have performed music for a work of media that is notable, namely performance in a notable film. The song Hard Times by The Unlimiters has been licensed for the Austrian feature film Die Vermissten, which is expected to be shown in cinemas in 2012. - The Unlimiters have been a featured subject of a substantial broadcast segment across a national radio or TV network. On 22 October 2010, the German television channel ZDF invited the Unlimiters to perform in front of a national audience in their morning show Morgenmagazin ( video). On 1 December 2010, the Unlimiters were interviewed on Funkhaus Europa, the international radio station of the broadcasting network WDR.
As a side note, songs by The Unlimiters received substantial airplay on several major radio stations, including Deutschlandradio Kultur ( playlist 1 and 2), Deutschlandfunk ( playlist), BBC 6 Music ( playlist), and Radio 3 of Radio Nacional de España ( playlist), as well as several local radio stations, such as Radio Eins from the broadcasting network RBB ( playlist 1 and 2). Still under the name The Essentials, the band had been interviewed in October 2008 on Radio Fritz, also part of RBB ( mp3).
