I ran this in kayaks twice last year; in moderate water levels once, and low-moderate levels the other time. There were rapids that I would have considered to be II+ if not III. I'm not an experience paddler, though. Still, I've done guided trips with well-quantified class II, II+, and III, and the ones in the Trough are at the high end of difficulty in comparison. About half of the kayakers I was with got deluged, although they weren't experienced either.
