As far as I remember the original is German MCV (Markt für Computer- und Videospiele) by publisher Computec. First issue was 09/94, released on 17. August 1994, according to MCV 09/95. According to German MCV 50/98, the UK magazine was launched on 4. September 1998 and a US version had launch parties on 2./3. December 1998. In MCV 09/98 it says that Computec has successfully set up an internationl news network ("MCV World Network") and made agreements with three former CTW employees. The article also states that by that time Stuart Dinsey had already lead CTW for 12 years. It also says that the UK-based MCV Media UK Ltd. is a subsidiary of Computec.
