this tv series and the Fairport Convention album of the same name.

I've just watched The Jewel in the Crown on DVD. I have a problem with one sentence in this article, in the section " Production and reviews." The sentence says:
I agree that most of the actors in that list do play leading or at least very memorable roles in The Jewel in the Crown. However, I had never heard of the first and last actors in that list, Om Puri and Karan Kapoor, so I went back over the cast lists for all fourteen episodes and found that both of them appear in minor roles in the first few episodes.
I didn't even recognize the names of the characters they were credited with playing—although I had just finished watching the entire series and it was very fresh in my mind—so I had to investigate further just to find out which characters they were.
Mr Puri plays Sister Ludmila's assistant Mr De Souza (while the actor who plays Sister Ludmila—a much more significant role—is not mentioned here), and Mr Kapoor plays the even smaller role of Colin Lindsey, Hari Kumar's best friend in England who ignores him when he comes to India. That character is only on screen for a few seconds in a flashback, and he doesn't speak a single word. It would be much more appropriate to count him as an extra than as a leading actor.
It doesn't make sense to me that relatively unknown actors in such minor roles should be included in a list of the "leading actors" in this production. The second and least memorable of even those two—Karan Kapoor—even has his parents' names listed. That seems especially inappropriate, as if that information was inserted by the family themselves just because they're so proud that their son got a role (however small) in such a notable production. It just doesn't seem appropriate for an encyclopedia article. Unless someone explains here why those two should be included in the list of "leading actors," I may remove their names.-- Jim10701 ( talk) 04:46, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
When one parent is Engish and the other Indian? Both have the same race, Indo-European. The term "race" is vastly missused here. Masalai ( talk) 01:01, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
