It appears that someone at The Herald-Sun has been making unverified statements and editorial comments about the current operations under the Paxton Media Group and under the former owners. While I think it's fantastic that the subjects of Wikipedia articles actively participate in the creation of Wiki content, it does a disservice to the community when they (apparently) selectively edit for their benefit and do so as an "anonymous" user.
This was added (inappropriately) to the article by an anonymous user at the end of the Website section, but the point is still valid (if worded inflammatorily):
REALITY CHECK: The last sentence in the foregoing paragraph
At this point the company finally implemented widespread Web training, which it failed to do under its previous ownership, and the site not only continues to be updated throughout the day, the number of postings has grown dramatically as more editors are able to work with the site.
— Added by an anonymous user within The Herald-Sun's IP block on 20 July, 2007is rubbish, and probably written by the person who, at the behest of Paxton's nickle-graspers, helped de-content the original award-winning site much the same as The Herald-Sun itself. The current page is poorly organized and dominated by ads and static links to standing features. Unfortunately, the original site no longer exists and can't be used to illustrate the fallacy that the paper's Web presence has been in any way "improved." —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.203.122.150 ( talk • contribs) 20:16, 15 August 2007
I've gone through and tagged the sections that have unverified or unsourced references, as well as restoring a previously deleted reference that was producing an error. — Mustang_DVS ( talk| contribs) 15:47, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
This piece is extremely slanted and inaccurate. The Herald-Sun actually has a good deal less wire content than under its previous ownership, its Web site is updated around the clock as news dictates and it continues to win awards for its excellent reporting. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.65.207.170 ( talk • contribs) 23:40, 31 January 2007
Restored notation of photographer Taylor's and cartoonist Cole's firings; these were noted in The Independent's article, "Paxton May Have Overpaid For Herald-Sun." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.43.22.100 ( talk) 19:09, 7 September 2012 (UTC)
Image:The Herald-Sun masthead.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BetacommandBot 07:05, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
