"Like its sequels, it takes place in the continent of Tamriel, complete with wilderness, dungeons, Pingas, a spell creation system that allows players to mix various spell effects into a new spell as long as they have the money to pay for it, and numerous other game features that were ahead of its time."
Any more examples that could be added to the article? Thanks. :) JonasRH 18:58, 19 February 2006 (UTC)

In the Dagoth Ur article, it mentions that the player in the 1st game meets with and is seemingly helped by him. Does enyone know exactly what this refers to?
That is completely inaccurate, Dagoth does not appear in Arena, Dagoth-Ur the facility does however. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.76.176.42 ( talk) 19:51, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
This took me a really long time to figure out, maybe cuz I'm stupid. But when I downloaded Arena and played it, I found the starting dungeon to be reasonably easy. However, when I left the dungeon, I was in a town and a tough mob would attack me every few paces. There was nobody to talk to and none of the doors would open either. I could pick some doors but then someone inside would be waiting to kill me, or I'd fail and guards would kill me. Exiting the town to the wilderness was unproductive since there's nothing out there except more dungeons. Well, hours later, having died and reloaded many times, and wandering around the wilderness I eventually camped until daytime happened to come around (I didn't even know there was a day/night cycle). Then found the gate back into town and discovered citizens walking around! Oh the joy. So as it turns out, towns are only productive during the day. If you are new to the game, and are unfortunate enough to exit the starter dungeon at night, what you should do is run around the town until you find a sign with an ale mug. That is the sign of an Inn, where you can safely sleep until daybreak. This is definitely a detail that could have been included in the hints! VanishingUser 01:44, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
If Elder Scrolls I and II were in the same place as Elder Scrolls III only a lot more of the area could be explored, are cities like Balmora, Vivec, and Mournhold in "Arena"? 71.186.204.160 ( talk) 18:07, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
"The misleading packaging further contributed to distributor distaste for the game, leading to an initial distribution of only 3,000 units" - In the The Elder Scrolls article it states the initial distribution was 10,000 sales. Only one of these can be correct and I'm unable to find any sources to back up either number. Either someone should find out exactly how many units were distributed at launch or I will amend this on both to say "leading to a very low number of units initially distributed" RockHazard ( talk) 12:57, 19 March 2013 (UTC)
The Reception section opens with the words "Despite harsh reviews". There should be a credible source showing that critical reception was indeed predominantly negative if that statement is to be left like that. From the review excerpts printed on the box of the Deluxe Edition, which was released less than a year after the initial version, the reviews in most of the then-popular print publications seem to have ranged from very positive to ecstatic. At least three of said publications also awarded the game with their RPG of the Year award in 1994, and it earned Game of the Year nominations, too. The humble success of the first installment, compared to the much more impactful successors, seems to have taken on a life of its own in popular discussion, making it be portrayed as much less positively received than it actually was back in the day. 2A02:120B:C3F9:4E40:1011:52E1:CB2B:1D5E ( talk) 17:12, 9 March 2016 (UTC)
