Editions

"Formats and editions of The eagle of the ninth". WorldCat.

Evidently the original illustrations by C. Walter Hodges were generally retained for forty years and they are still used in some English-language editions and some translations. There were English-language editions with new illustrations in 1980, 1994, and 2005, at least.

The 1980 (or 1979) ed. was an adaptation (#32 in the linked list):
"Textbook for foreign speakers"; 90 pages; 1000-word vocabulary; ISBN  9780194242066.
