Just because Metallica early were classified as a thrash metal band, doesn't necessarily mean that ALL of their material has to be under the thrash genre. I wouldn't throw especially "The Day That Never Comes" under the thrash classification because it doesn't really have the aggressive attitude that most thrash metal songs have, but there's no doubt about that it's at least heavy metal. So, if I may ask you to, let it be that way. A Powerful Weakness ( talk) 12:46, 7 September 2008 (UTC)A Powerful Weakness
-What about Speed Metal? At least for the second half...making it Heavy Metal/SPeed Metal —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.98.164.59 ( talk) 15:33, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
Here on Wikipedia we use valid reliable sources to cite what genre a song or album may be. Adding Heavy Metal constitutes as original research. There were 4 sources that said this song is Thrash Metal but whoever keeps going in and reverting the edits has deleted all of those and replaced it with Heavy metal, narrow mindedly. Again, that is original research. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kgardner1123 ( talk • contribs) 22:16, 21 September 2008 (UTC)
For the last time. If a Genre has a source and its an active link you have no authority to change it. I have sourced it and just because you feel its a different genre does not matter. We don't use personal opinions of Wikipedia. You need to read the rules and understand before you continue to ruin this page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kgardner1123 ( talk • contribs) 02:01, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
There seems to be some controversy regarding the song's peak position in Canada. On the Canadian Hot 100, the song's peak was #9, while on the Canadian Singles Chart, its peak was #1. However, these are two entirely different charts. The Canadian Hot 100 measures digital singles sales and radio airplay to determine a song's peak. The Canadian Singles Chart uses physical singles sales only. These days, physical sales of singles have collapsed to almost nothing in Canada, and so I personally feel it's not a true indicator of a song's popularity here, in comparison to the Canadian Hot 100.
Therefore, I personally believe that "The Day That Never Comes"'s peak should be represented as #9, and not #1. However, if some people insist on showing it having peaked at #1 (and I can understand the desire to show a higher position for a song you like), then it should be clearly stated that it peaked at #1 on the Canadian Singles Chart, and not on the Canadian Hot 100. 198.20.39.46 ( talk) 18:22, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
There's absolutely NO CONTROVERSY HERE! Leave the article alone and stop abusing the use of
Canadian Singles Chart. Stop replacing the
Canadian Hot 100 with that, the
Canadian Singles Chart is not that reliable anymore so stop before i report this.

"Vague" doesn't mean the same thing as "symbolic". Symbolic lyrics take considerable amounts of time to construct and make effective - vague lyrics are just lyrics you couldn't be bothered to apply a meaning too. 207.210.29.71 ( talk) 20:14, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
So if the entire population of Wikipedia agrees that the song structure is very similar to the song "One", it's still no good? Those claims are obviously true, all you have to do is listen to the music. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.27.24.2 ( talk) 08:25, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
"it is implied that he died of his wounds" it says in the document. I see no signs of anyone getting killed in this video. The black marine, laying against the car, clearly is not dead because he moves his hand in the end of the scene. After that, he is carried into the helicopter, but the non-covered face certainly implies to a living person. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.233.43.194 ( talk) 00:30, 8 August 2009 (UTC)
It's interesting that this song is labeled as Heavy Metal / Thrash Metal and also as similar to 'one', 'Welcome Home (Sanitarium) and 'Fade to Black' which are all labeled as just Thrash Metal. Is there any reason for that other than people not wanting to accept that Metallica are now playing Thrash Metal again? Ducky610 ( talk) 07:57, 4 December 2009 (UTC)
