Until just a few minutes ago, "The Closer I Get to You" (unadorned) redirected to Luther Vandross' final album Dance with My Father, which contains a cover version of this song with Beyoncé Knowles; I changed it to redirect here. To appropriate the title to Luther is unfair not only to the Flack/Hathaway original (the true classic, and not just because Hathaway died a year later), but also to Beyoncé since the cover also appeared on her solo debut Dangerously in Love. A move would put this article in its proper place. -- RBBrittain ( talk) 02:09, 30 September 2008 (UTC)
As a reader, I'm more interested in the original writing and recording of the song. I think the treatment in the article is unfairly slanted to the more recent Vandross/Knowles version. Is there more information about the songwriters out there? Babowman ( talk) 21:06, 2 April 2011 (UTC)
Then, why don't you expand it yourself? Jivesh • Talk2Me 02:25, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
